Opposed to Juventus this Tuesday, in the Youth League, the young guns of LOSC fought for a long time in numerical inferiority. A reality which did not slow them down (0-0), capable of pocketing the draw point.
Undefeated in the competition after draws conceded in Lisbon and Madrid and a success pocketed against Real d'Arbeloa, LOSC advanced with some important absences this Tuesday (4 p.m.) against Juventus in the Youth League. Younes Lachaab and Lilian Baret are retained with the first team and Isaac Cossier is unavailable due to injury. These are three important members of Stéphane Pichot's squad, who will manage to battle smoothly throughout a foggy afternoon.
The film of the meeting
The first period was a long observation phase during which the LOSC launched hostilities. It was Faiz, aligned on the right side of the Lille attack, who scored the first strike of the game (10'). This nevertheless passes far from the Turin cages. For their part, Diaoune made his inaugural forays when Merzouk made his first save (15'). The rest is a long highlight for Juventus, who suddenly take control of the leather and offer themselves several situations. The Lille youth then resisted, turned their backs and reduced the angles enough to stay afloat and get through these delicate minutes.
When the Mastiffs took their heads out of the water, without however managing to create any real danger in the opposing area, Kemryk Nagera was sent off for a gesture of humor (37'). Adame Faïz nevertheless fishes in the last meters, multiplying bad choices near the surface. The insistent presence of Lille still gives serious chills to the Turinese who, despite having a numerical superiority, have a big scare twenty minutes from time. Soriba Diaoune finds a striking angle and forces the last Piedmontese rampart to extend to its full length (69').
The minutes tick by and become more and more difficult for the Mastiffs. Despite their technical superiority, they are gradually giving way to their opponents who are rushing to the Merzouk cages. The latter, in a state of grace, continues the parades to the applause of his teammates in the stands. MERZOUK's name is also chanted at the final whistle, when the referee signals the end of a breathtaking game (0-0).
Yet outnumbered for an hour, LOSC resisted and did well! The Lille youth team is still undefeated after four days.
