The number 9 position at Manchester United has been at the heart of Mancunian recruitment for several years. The players follow each other but none really impose themselves. So this summer, the new management, commanded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the co-owner of the club, attempted a move that he considered good in terms of quality/price ratio: Joshua Zirkzee. Transferred from Bologna for £36.5 million, the Dutch striker is struggling to convince fans and his former manager, Erik Ten Hag, having scored just once in 15 games. Worse, according to information from The Sun, the former technician did not want his recruitment and wondered about his physical condition.
Arrived overweight and bad behavior
Arriving this summer after the Euro semi-final lost to England, the 23-year-old striker was to join his teammates in Los Angeles for the pre-season tour. He ultimately didn't go, simply introducing himself to the group by telephone. The doubts were confirmed during the first training session because he arrived overweight and took time to lose these extra pounds. Enough to annoy Erik Ten Hag who prefers Rasmus Hojlund at the forefront of the attack. Some fans even wonder if he has the fitness needed for the Premier League.

To summarize
Joshua Zirkzee's transfer to Manchester United this summer would have every reason to be a flop. A choice solely made by the Mancunian management which would not have shared Erik Ten Hag, the former coach of the Red Devils.
