In this section, Le Petit Lillois gives a voice to LOSC supporters at the end of each of its meetings. This time, three of them were questioned following the draw conceded by LOSC and Olympique Lyonnais (1-1).
The football gods could not smile on Lille forever and they learned it the hard way this Friday, hitting the uprights twice while eventually conceding the equalizing goal in added time (1-1) . This is how LOSC was once again overthrown by Olympique Lyonnais in the Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre Mauroy, for the third time in a row. They do not benefit from the disappointment of AS Monaco, defeated by Angers (0-1) a little earlier in the day.
This meeting was commented on by Erwann, Philippe and Franck, three supporters interviewed cold, more than a day after the final whistle. Their comments are an opportunity to return one last time to the recently contested game, but from a different angle from what we can traditionally see in the press.
A question of feeling
One half for one team and the second for the other, there were two games in the match this Friday, during the duel between LOSC and Olympique Lyonnais. A fervent supporter of LOSC, Erwann begins the analysis of this part: “We saw a team with two faces, with a first half that I found very, very good. The quality of our game, passing circuit, recovery, pressing, especially on the first goal where you have seven Lille players near the area, which pushes Maitland-Niles to make his mistake. It was really positive. Unfortunately, Angel's (Gomes) failure means that we are not safe. In the second half, we disappeared a little. It was a bit of a complicated match, but I think it was still a good result. It’s reassuring, even if we remained hungry and we were very, very anxious throughout the second period”he analyzed.
From anxiety to frustration, Philippe continues:
“It’s a very frustrating match. It's been a long, long time since we've been so unsuccessful in front of opposing goals.regrets the most experienced of the three interviewed. We had everything to put in a great performance and I didn't understand the change of face in the second half. The players did not seem overly tired, but totally overwhelmed. Honestly, we are doing well given the copy submitted because the result could have been the same as last year. That's three times in a row, it seems like we're not learning certain lessons.”he fumes, still muttering when Franck follows suit.
The latter does not have the same vision of things. In his eyes, we must be satisfied with the result recorded:
“Honestly, looking back, I’m not going to spit on this result. Lyon are undoubtedly the most unpredictable team in our championship and taking a point, given our multiple injuries, is a good thing. I'm also happy to see what we were able to do in the first half. We can see that even in Ligue 1, we have this potential. You must now be able to repeat it over time and with regularity. This is the objective »he assures, full of hope for the future.
Two distinct faces
From analysis to explanation, our three supporters throw themselves into it wholeheartedly. What are the reasons that caused this twisted scenario: “Really, I didn't see players tired, but it was like they were suddenly less connected. We saw this with less precise passes and more waste in potential transmissions and transitions. Defensively, we fell back, too far back. Maybe we were over-managing”begins Philippe, who remains on the surface. “I have no explanation, apart from the fact that the Champions League is fast approachingcontinues Franck. We see it clearly with Brest. When it's in your head, it's difficult to follow good results after good results. »
This hypothesis fully satisfies Erwann, connection:
“I think the Champions League is already on people’s mindsacquiesce-t-il. You come out of three games with six points and a big one is coming with Juventus, obviously you think about it. I didn't find them defensively difficult, but I think they wanted to be in control in the second half, so it's more mental. The problem is that Lyon came back with the fangs and they connected on us a little too late. This is the explanation in my eyes and it is also for this reason that I am not worried about the future”he tries to be reassuring.
What to do about this point?
Two points lost or one point gained, that is the question. Franck is formal. LOSC did not carry out a bad operation: “It’s a good point that had to be achieved with guts. We stand our ground without losing ground on anyone. It is not today that qualification for a competition is at stake, but a defeat could have meant a blow to the head. We will be satisfied with this point”he begins, in total contradiction with Philippe. “We're going to say that it's better than nothing, but it's honestly two points lost. We had the opportunity to carry out a superb operation by taking our place on the podium. But as usual, we don't seize them and we let the slightest opportunity to position ourselves well slip away.”he regrets.
Finally, Erwann does not really manage to position himself:
“It’s a point won. Frankly, we could clearly have lost him so that’s a first satisfaction. Unfortunately, if we look purely at the accounting plan, these are two points lost because you have Monaco which lost against Angers. That's a shame. We could have done very well in the rankings. We had the opportunity to take shelter a little”he mentions, particularly mixed on the question.
And on the right side?
Once again, the opinions of Philippe and Franck mingle. Both men place their trust in Aïssa Mandi:
“I’m going to bet on Aïssa Mandi. He has proven that he has the level since his arrival. He was even able to play as left back in Lens. He will not disappointlaunches the last named. It's catastrophic. I don't see any other viable long-term solutions than Mandi or Gudmundsson. One is a regular at the position with Algeria while the other is versatility personified. There is also Ousmane Touré, but it’s still tender, very tender”continued the second. The latter should nevertheless not be able to apply for a starting place, the fault of a thigh injury.
For his part, Erwann evokes the hypothesis leading to Bafodé Diakité:
“We could naturally talk about him, who always did the job when he was on the right. But for me, he is essential in the axis of defense. Despite his sluggish start to the season, he is gradually becoming a boss. This is where he should stay. Aïssa Mandi could do it, it’s more than correctErwann finally rallies, joining his two friends. I don't have the perfect solution. Either way, we'll be doing DIY. The first thing is that we will have to be lenient, because we are the specialists for this kind of thing. We saw it with Ousmane Touré who was able to take missiles from the networks because he made a small mistake”he finally castigated.
