The Greens played last night against Strasbourg for the 10th day of League 1. After the defeat in Angers, Olivier Dall'Oglio's men reacted by winning 2-0. During the match between ASSE and Strasbourg, Saint-Etienne supporters sent a scathing message to the LFP.
As usual, Geoffroy Guichard rose to the occasion this Saturday. Great architect of Saint-Etienne's great victory, the supporters know that they must participate in this maintenance operation which promises to be difficult until the end of the season! Thus, the role of 12th man takes on its full meaning. With 3 victories in 5 matches played in the cauldron, the message is clear: ASSE will obtain its stay at home.
A scathing message to the LFP
For the 11th day of League 1, ASSE will travel to Lyon to play the derby. After two seasons without, the two best enemies are delighted to meet again. Unfortunately, ASSE supporters are banned from traveling, once again. Despite the joint press release from the different groups of Saint-Etienne supporters, the authorities did not hear the request:
““11 years. Eleven long years since we can no longer support the Greens for an OL-ASSE. Obviously, these bans which have become habitual must stop and the biggest derby in France must be played with the supporters of both camps, one side as well as the other This is why we ask the authorities to put in place the necessary and existing means to grant a decent number of places to Saint-Etienne supporters, in Lyon, on Sunday November 10, 2024.
The ultras therefore did not fail to attack the LFP following this decision. A banner could be read in the stands yesterday: “Germany: ok, Poland: ok, England: Ok, France: No. Incapable of organizing a derby, good at starting dubious controversies”.

A warning to the new management of ASSE?
Aware that the club took on another dimension this summer with the acquisition of the club by Kilmer Sports, the supporters do not want ASSE to fall into the excesses of football. Thus, banners on club timeshares were displayed in the stand. It could be read: “Lack of sporting fairness, inconsistent sporting projects, death of century-old clubs, for all these reasons, no to multi-ownership”.
A way to warn the new management? For the moment in any case, the new decision-makers from Saint-Etienne want to be reassuring on this subject, but until when?
