Hungry for sport, he grew up to the sound of Formula 1 engines and the exploits of Ronaldinho. Today, with a Master's degree in sports journalism, he no longer misses an Grand Prix or a PSG match, his two passions and specialties.

This summer, PSG only recruited four players including Willian Pacho, one of the surprise transfers of the transfer window since the Ecuador international, little known to the general public, signed in for €40 million. And the central defender assures that the negotiations for his transfer took place very discreetly.

Arrived this summer at PSG for €40M, Willian Pacho is one of the surprise transfers of the last transfer window. It must be said that the negotiations were carried out in secret and that information concerning his transfer leaked very late. The Ecuador international says more about these discreet discussions.

“We had to remain discreet”

« I knew I had had a big season in Frankfurt and that there would be opportunities. My agents talked to me about the possibility of coming to Paris. I spoke with the Parisian management, I really liked the project. I told my family about it, but few people knew, we had to remain discreet. I thought of the people in Ecuador who support me a lot. I knew it would impress them. On the other hand, I knew that the Parisians knew me little, that my transfer was something they did not expect. », he admits in an interview given to theAFP.

“My transfer was something they didn’t expect”

Willian Pacho also took the opportunity to discuss his integration in Paris where he will soon be joined by his family: “ I'm alone for the moment, my family won't be long. I like the city a lot, so far I have mainly gone out to restaurants or to visit. In my free time, I play a little console, I watch films… I also take French lessons ».
