Portuguese Ruben Amorim has been officially appointed as the new manager of Manchester United.
It was an open secret, it's now official. Ruben Amorim has been inaugurated as the new manager of Manchester United. He succeeds Erik Ten Hag, who was sacked at the start of the season.
The Lusitano technician arrives from Sporting CP, which he led to national glory last season. With him, the Lions have reached many milestones and INEOS hopes that it will be the same at Old Trafford. His task still promises to be complicated because there is no coach who has truly succeeded with MU since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.
A hell of a challenge awaits Ruben Amorim
Before signing for MU, Amorim had been in contact with other English teams. A few months ago, West Ham, Tottenham and Liverpool all inquired about him. Note also that on the Lisbon side, we have allegedly already found his potential replacement.
Ruben Amorim will become the youngest coach of the Red Devils since the Englishman Wilf McGuinness, appointed to the Manchester bench on August 11, 1969 at the age of 31.
Amorim will only begin his new role on November 11. Ruud Van Nistelrooy will continue his interim role for around ten more days.
