ASSE will play to maintain this season in Ligue 1. The Greens are currently in sixteenth place in the standings and seem condemned to fight for their survival in the elite. The winter transfer window risks being decisive for the rest of the season. The current squad has some gaps that will need to be filled.
Mohamed Bamba still in ASSE's sights?
Several players could arrive next January. Reinforcements would be particularly welcome in defense, a sector where Dall'Oglio's men have often been in difficulty since the start of the season. But the leaders also seem to be looking at the attackers available on the market. Indeed, according to information from the 225 Foot site, Lorient's Mohamed Bamba would interest ASSE: “A few weeks before the opening of the winter transfer window, Saint-Étienne has ticked off a few names to strengthen its offensive line. According to information reaching our editorial staff, the profile of Mohamed Bamba would be very appreciated.”
However, it is important to point out that the winter transfer window is still far away and this is therefore just a rumor. A rumor which will however be the first of a long list. The transfer window will begin to resurface in a few weeks…
As a reminder, Mohamed Bamba was already in the sights of Saint-Etienne leaders last summer. At the end of the transfer window, he was even the priority of the board with Lucas Stassin. It was ultimately the Belgian striker who committed to the Greens until 2028 (+ an optional season). Lorient had, however, received at least two offers from Saint-Etienne for its striker. It remains to be seen what FCL's demands will be to part ways with the Ivorian striker in January. This season, Bamba has played eight matches in Ligue 2 for two goals and two assists. He is therefore gradually regaining sensations after his aborted transfer two months ago.
