Clermont Foot: Departure of Sébastien Bichard

Sébastien Bichard leaves the Clermont Foot bench: a turning point for the Auvergne club

After ten games as head coach, Sébastien Bichard leaves office at Clermont Foot 63. Arrived in March 2024 to assist Pascal GastienBichard had taken the reins of the team when the latter left. However, the dynamic did not allow Clermont to regain a stable place in Ligue 2, pushing the club to make an emergency change.

A hasty start after mixed results

Clermont currently occupies 14th place in Ligue 2. It has a record of two wins, three draws and five defeats. The Auvergne club, far from its initial objectives, made the decision to part ways with Bichard in a context of insufficient performances. The Swiss technician, although appreciated for his professionalism and his commitment, was unable to reverse the results curve.

According to the official press release published by CF63, Bichard's departure is the result of a mutual agreement. The club specifies: “Sébastien Bichard and Clermont Foot 63 have reached an agreement to end their collaboration. The club thanks Sébastien for his involvement, his high standards and his professionalism since his arrival. »

To deal with this vacancy, Emmanuel Gas, member of the technical staff, takes over as interim manager from October 28. Gas will supervise training and prepare the team for upcoming matches, pending the appointment of a new coach. This decision could bring new impetus to the group in a critical period of the championship.

The departure of Bichard represents a major turning point in the management of Clermont Foot 63. In search of stability in Ligue 2, the club must now carefully choose the future coach. An experienced profile capable of turning things around seems to be preferred.
