Match summary
The Greens are having a nightmare start to the match as Israel Kinunga is sent off after a foul as the last defender. There are almost 80 minutes left to go, numerically inferior. Despite this, the Greens were evenly matched until this terrible 92nd minute when Le Havre scored the winning goal. For this first meeting, ASSE therefore lost 1-0. Note the return of Cheick Fall after 7 months of rehabilitation following a knee injury. The Senegalese played half-time!
Reaction from Razik Nedder:
“Overall, it was a good match. We ask to play more matches like this. We delivered a good performance in terms of content, intensity and control. We should have killed the match from the start. the first half, and the numerical inferiority was not felt too much. From the 10th minute, we found ourselves at 10, and with stoppages in play, we played in inferiority for almost 90 minutes.
We created a lot of clear chances – bars, posts, one-on-ones – but we missed too many big clear chances. This was already the case against Lyon, and it is still the case today. Even when we were inferior, we should have led 2-0 at halftime.
We then had a solid second half, with several offensive situations. Taking this penalty in the 92nd minute is unfair. But at the end of the match, we made too many mistakes; we must be more pragmatic, and avoid projecting ourselves so much by taking unnecessary risks. This is how we were countered in the 90th minute.
For the next four games, we won't have any room for error if we want to finish in the top two.”
