On TV7, the journalist Laurent Brun spoke about the progress of the Girondins de Bordeaux during the last matches.
“There are players who now know themselves a little better and who are starting to have automatisms. There are still new players who have arrived, who are not qualified. There are also injured people. This means that the squad is growing, that Bruno Irles is starting with his staff to find the right formulas and the right positions. It's interesting, there is a real challenge for all these boys who came to this club. It starts from the coaches, including Andy Carroll who didn't come for the money, that's for sure… It's starting to take hold. We also discover all these talented players, almost all of whom have gone through training centers. In short, it’s starting to take shape, and that’s normal.”
Hervé Bugnet agreed.
“They have known each other for two months now, training together. There are some automatisms that have been created, so this bodes well for the future. Most of the players who play in National 2 have gone through training centers. I said during the first match against Bourges that we had to be lenient for a month and a half before getting some results. When there is a restructuring of a team like that, it is never easy.”
