In addition to the serious injury of Dani Carvajal, Real Madrid must deal with that of David Alaba, victim of a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in December 2023. His return is still awaited, but the Austrian international has intending to return in the second half of the season at the latest.

Due to new injuries in his defensive sector, the Real Madrid is seriously considering the possibility of taking advantage of the summer transfer window to recruit a central defender. In this sense, three avenues are explored according to The Athletic, Aymeric Laporte (30 ans, Al-Nassr), Victor Reis (18 ans, Palm trees) et Lukeba Castle (21 ans, RB Leipzig).

A return in 2025 for Alaba?

The Real Madrid recently lost Dani Carvajal (32 years old) and must also do without David Alaba since December 2023. Victim of a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee, the 32-year-old defender has fallen behind schedule, but his return should take place at least in 2025.

Alaba hopes to return in the second half of the season

As reported by the journalist Florian Plettenberg, David Alaba continues to work in order to return to the field as quickly as possible. The Austrian international (105 caps) feels good and his goal is to be available for Carlo Ancelotti at the latest in the second part of the season.
