Many observers have noticed an increase in empty seats at the Parc des Princes this season. Does PSG 2024-2025 without a big star scare off spectators?

This summer, PSG had to make a 180-degree turn in its sports policy. No more buying a big world star, the Parisian club is banking on Luis Enrique’s project with a young and talented collective. A bet forced by the free departure of Kylian Mbappé around whom PSG had built its squad. Without the captain of the Blues, Neymar or Lionel Messi, this new PSG seduces journalists with its state of mind. The same cannot be said for all the spectators at the Parc des Princes. There seem to be more empty seats in than last season. A disenchantment that is not fantasized.

We no longer buy tickets at the Park

The visual impression is confirmed by Bleu Paris. Even if PSG denies observing a difference in enthusiasm with previous seasons, tickets for the Parc des Princes are more difficult to find takers. Public radio relates the testimonies of several Parisian subscribers who resell their place on certain matches. They have great difficulty finding buyers on match nights. If the price charged by certain platforms is singled out (130 euros for PSG- for example), the lack of attractiveness for PSG 2024-2025 is also particularly visible.

« The new sports project, which I appreciate, is based on fewer stars and more young people in the making. There are therefore fewer “football tourists”. I can clearly see these holes in the stadium with empty seats during the matches at the start of the season. And then there are these prices on TicketPlace which are above ground compared to what PSG offers. It’s like DAZN which offers a subscription that is too expensive compared to the product it offers. Well a place at the Parc des Princes is the same thing: you no longer have the stars that go with the price of your ticket », summarizes Aurélien, who has subscribed to the Park for three years. A fact to take into account for PSG while a move to the suburbs to a larger stadium is envisaged for the coming years.
