Barça is having an impressive start to the season under the leadership of Hansi Flick, despite a series of injuries which has long decimated their squad. Solo leader of La Liga with 24 points out of 27 possible, the Catalan club was able to cope with these difficulties. But after this second international break in October, the situation finally seems to be improving, with several returns expected. Currently, eight major players are still on the flank: Ter Stegen, Araujo, Christensen, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Marc Bernal, Fermín López and Ferran Torres. However, Flick could soon count on the returns of Gavi, Olmo and Fermín, in addition to that already recorded by Frenkie de Jong. The reinforcements come at just the right time as Barca prepare for a series of crucial matches against tough opponents like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Sevilla.
Beautiful people back
Frenkie de Jong was the first to return to the squad after a five-month absence due to a sprained ankle. He gradually regained his rhythm by playing a few minutes in the last two matches before the break. Dani Olmo, injured in the biceps femoris in September, should be ready for the resumption against Sevilla after a shorter absence than expected. As for Fermín López, although he suffered injuries this summer, he now seems ready to return to the squad. Gavi, who has been away from the field for almost eleven months following a cruciate ligament rupture, recently returned to training and could be on the scoresheet against Sevilla or shortly after. These strong returns allow Hansi Flick to approach the rest of the season with a strengthened and more competitive team.
