Thomas Tuchel has reportedly identified FC Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo as his top transfer target should he take over as manager at Manchester United.
According to Fichajes, Tuchel has made signing the Uruguayan defender a key condition for accepting the job at Old Trafford, hoping to complete the deal in the January transfer window. Araujo, who has played for Barcelona since 2018, has become an essential figure in the club’s defense. His consistent performances and ability to play as both a central defender and a right back have reinforced his importance to the team. The Uruguayan defender made 37 appearances in all competitions last season, contributing one goal and two assists.
Currently recovering from a hamstring injury, Araujo is expected to return to action in November, which will further strengthen Barcelona’s defense. As the team’s third captain, he remains a vital part of the club’s future plans. Barcelona will be determined to keep their star defender, who has two years left on his contract.
