Former French international Patrice Evra has joined the “Rothen s’igname” team on RMC radio. Known for his outspokenness, he quickly had to talk about Mbappé’s arrival at Real Madrid.

First questioned about his disenchantment with PSG, the former player of Monaco, and United, among others, wanted to make things clear: “Oh, it’s starting well! I don’t hate PSG, I toast from time to time, I’m not one of the guys who plays in Marseille, takes on the Marseille accent and forgets ”, he declared for his premiere on the show.

Which did not prevent him from subsequently tackling the Parisian club’s project: “At one point, you saw more Di Caprios and Kardashians in the stands instead of seeing George Weah or Bernard Lama. And now, it’s the complete opposite where you bring out all the stars.”

“Luis Enrique is going to build something, he is on the right track but it will take time, you don’t win the Champions League with children. If now you expect to win it with kids… Some people don’t “They don’t even have ten Champions League matches but are already taken for stars because when you arrive in Paris they roll out the red carpet for you,” he says.

“Deschamps protects him”

The debate then quickly turned to Kylian Mbappé, and in particular his non-call-up with the Blues for the next international break. “Didier protects him, let’s be clear! Mbappé no longer plays in Paris, he plays at Real Madrid. If you call him up and he gets injured, it’s the best way to ruin your relationship with Florentino Pérez… Me, what I hear about Mbappé… I want people to give up on him a little. He will succeed but we have to give him time and let him breathe.

“Why do people only talk about Mbappé? It was you who created this legend because he won a World Cup. But for me, Mbappé does not yet come close to Benzema. With everything the respect I have for him, the armband of the team, I would never have given it to Mbappé You give everything to the guy, how do you expect him to motivate himself afterward?”, continues Evra.
