OM: Carboni overpriced, the scam is exposed

This summer on the transfer market, OM did very well. Among the players who landed on the Canebière: Valentin Carboni.

At OM, expectations are always very high and it is not easy for certain players to integrate. Roberto De Zerbi asks a lot of his troops and wants them to apply his game ideas. Among the players the Italian appreciates: Valentin Carboni. The midfielder, on loan from Inter, has nevertheless struggled to make his mark since his arrival in the city. As proof, he has only played 36 minutes since the start of the season. Enough to question Inter and Italy, who do not really understand what is happening between Carboni and Olympique de Marseille. For some Marseille observers, like Sacha Nabet, there was too much excitement regarding Carboni, who does not necessarily have the level to play in De Zerbi’s eleven.

Carboni, a big problem for OM?

On the set of BFM Marseillethe journalist did not speak the language on the subject. “Disappointment no… I didn’t necessarily have any expectations of him. It’s not his fault. He arrives in a particular system with a lot of importance in midfield. He can play three positions so he can’t find his place. (…) We were very excited about Carboni. He is only 19 years old and has a full season at Monza. It’s not a very good season either. There were hopes because he is an Argentinian prospect and Inter valued him at 40 million euros. Messi had spoken well of Carboni”notably indicated Sacha Nabet, who thinks that many other players have passed the Argentinian in the hierarchy at OM. It remains to be seen whether Carboni will be able to reverse the trend, as OM have progressed at a significant pace since the start of the Ligue 1 season.
