“A majority to create the High Court of Justice and judge ministers and the president”

Ousmane Sonko, leader of the Pastef-Les Patriotes party, launched an appeal on Wednesday to his activists, supporters and all Senegalese people in view of the legislative elections on Sunday, November 17. He urged for an overwhelming majority to address the urgent challenges facing the country.

According to Mr. Sonko, this majority would allow the government to implement its program without hindrance, in particular the Senegal 2050 plan, which gives a central place to good governance and accountability.

Thanks to this majority in the National Assembly, he informs, it would be possible to pass laws, in particular for the creation of the High Court of Justice, aimed at judging ministers or the President of the Republic.

From this perspective, Sonko intends to lead a campaign inspired by American methods in order to guarantee a solid majority. He is also calling for a major fundraising campaign for his party, Pastef, during a mega meeting scheduled for this Saturday, October 19 at Dakar Arena.
