Juve wins in Verona too. Vlahovic scores twice and Savona scores

It’s a top-ranking Juve, at the top and in total solitude. Two days of the championship and the Lady managed by mister Motta already breathes a high-ranking atmosphere that makes you dream. Just a handful of months have passed since last season, extremely turbulent, and now they find themselves up there, leaving Inter, Atalanta, Napoli and Milan behind them.

It’s still August football but the victory obtained at the Bentegodi over Verona with a peremptory 3-0, which is on par with that over Como, increases the self-esteem of a team that appears to be only at the beginning of a long journey, for play, compactness and solidity, ease of maneuver, geometry and that aggressiveness born of courage and resourcefulness. Vlahovic rediscovers the vein of goal, author of a brace after being left dry in the first match of the championship and celebrates with a goal a superlative performance the young Savona, a young full-back who confirms his qualities and personality. To demonstrate that in this Juve there are no limits to meritocracy, nor hierarchies because at the start everyone starts on equal terms. Verona, who had the same dreams of primacy after the success with Napoli, scales down its ambitions, aware however of having faced a Lady team that is a candidate to have a leading role in the race for the scudetto.

For the match against the Scaligeri, Motta must do without the injured Thuram and Weah, leaving Douglas Luiz on the bench, Cambiaso moves up on the right with Savona deployed as a full-back while Mbangula is confirmed on the opposite side. At Hellas, Zanetti changes the formation by fielding a three-man defense, in front of Mosquera there is room for Suslov and Livramento. The match is blocked in the first minutes with Juventus struggling to create offensive initiatives thanks to the intense pressing of the yellow and blues. The quality of the Bianconeri’s game does not seem to be up to the previous performance and Motta is quick to spur the team on, inviting them to be more aggressive.

The dressing down, which took place during the cooling break, immediately bears fruit. Locatelli recovers the ball in the three-quarter line, Yildiz serves Vlahovic in space who, despite the disturbance of three opposing defenders, makes the most of his physicality, holds the pressure and shoots Montipò. Once the balance is broken, the match and the Lady change face, relying on quick and fast restarts and counterattacks. Savona who starts from behind confirms himself as a talented young man and in his umpteenth offensive incursion hits the target. Cambiaso serves Mbanguia on the left who makes a tight cross to the second post where the classy defender from NEXT Gen arrives at great speed and heads the ball into the far corner behind Montipò without anyone being able to touch or deflect it.

Closing the first half with a double advantage allows the Bianconeri to manage the second half without any particular risks. And in the 53rd minute the situation becomes even more comfortable for Motta’s team: Mbanguai is brought down in the area by Tchtchoua, the referee points to the spot and from eleven meters Vlahovic with a left-footed cross scores his brace and the triple advantage. Verona no longer has the strength except with final bursts, Juve controls without anguish.

The rest are smiles, those of a Motta who is very satisfied with his choices, of Savona, born in 2004, who gets all the applause from the bench and of Kalulu and Anghele who make their debut in black and white. The Lady is back and up there at the top she intends to stay for a long time.
