An Egyptian who annoys Bayern. An Algerian who plays brilliantly and a Berliner who scores again after a decade – the sports show team of the match day.

Tor – Noah Atubolu (SC Freiburg): The Freiburg keeper has had a turbulent past. After the mistake in the 3-0 loss against St. Pauli, Atubolu was insulted on social media. SC captain Christian Günter stood protectively in front of his goalkeeper after the win in Bremen. “We have a very, very talented goalkeeper between the posts who is totally reflective and knows when he has made a mistake. He works very hard. We are behind him 100 percent,” said Günther. The 22-year-old proved once again in Bremen that he is currently one of the top goalkeepers in the league. Atubolu kept his box clean with classy saves.

Defense – Kevin Vogt (Union Berlin): The longest goalless streak by a field player in the history of the Bundesliga has ended. After 3,640 days, Kevin Vogt was able to celebrate his own Bundesliga goal again, even if it was just a simple penalty that paved the way for his club to win against BVB. It was only the fourth goal for the 33-year-old in his long Bundesliga career, three of which he scored against Dortmund.

Defense – Keven Schlotterbeck (FC Augsburg): His opening goal against Gladbach on Friday evening was worth seeing. In the style of a super technician, the central defender placed the ball in front of himself with his chest and volleyed it under the crossbar with the full instep of his weak foot. The goal paved the way for an important home win for Augsburg, for whom Schlotterbeck also did a good job as a defender.

Defense – Danilho Doekhi (Union Berlin): Getting offensive aces like Serhou Guirassy and Jamie Gittens under control is not that easy. Danilho Doekhi achieved this brilliantly this afternoon together with his colleagues. The Dutchman is a solid pillar in the Union defense. Against Dortmund he had a tackle rate of 100 percent – it couldn’t be better.

Mittelfeld – Finn Porath (Holstein Kiel): It was the surprise of the match day, Holstein Kiel winning a point in Leverkusen. This also came about because Kiel’s defense became more and more solid after conceding early goals. One person who particularly stood out was Finn Porath. On the left side, Kiel’s Jeremie Frimpong hardly let up. You first have to get that done against the lightning-fast Leverkusen team.

Midfield – Ritsu Doan (SC Freiburg): The sports club from Freiburg could thank Ritsu Doan for the narrow victory in Bremen, who scored the decisive goal in the 1-0 victory. The lively Japanese has been in good form for weeks and is driving Freiburg’s game primarily from the right side. The goal in Bremen was his third goal of the season.

Midfield – Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich): The national player was once again reliable. Joshua Kimmich sets the pace in Bayern’s midfield and he did an excellent job against Eintracht. Kimmich had 154 ball contacts – more than anyone else in the game and had a pass rate of 92 percent. Little went wrong in the DFB captain’s game.

Midfield – Michael Olise (Bayern Munich): The Frenchman was the most striking offensive player at Bayern. If he had space on the right side, it became dangerous for Frankfurt. His goal to make it 3-2 was typical of the delicate French international. He placed the ball on his left foot. His goal was the left corner – and that’s exactly where his shot landed. Already the fourth goal of the season for Michael Olise.

midfieldMohamed Amoura (VfL Wolfsburg): In the summer, Wolfsburg brought the Algerian from Union Saint-Gilloise, and they seem to have had a good nose. Amoura obviously feels very comfortable in the Bundesliga. He prepared Tiago Tomás and Jonas Wind’s first two goals in Bochum with great passes, and the 24-year-old also took the penalty that led to VfL’s third goal. He already has five assists to his name this season – great.

Attack – Jonathan Burkardt (FSV Mainz 05): What a weekend for Jonathan Burkardt! First the Mainz striker scored two goals in the Saturday evening game for a 3-0 win at FC St. Pauli, then on Sunday afternoon the call came from national coach Julian Nagelsmann with his first nomination for the senior national team. “We are very proud of him, there is certainly no one in Mainz who is not happy for Jonny”said Mainz sports director Christian Heidel.

Jonathan Burkardt (Mainz 05)

Attack – Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt): Cold-nosed, strong nerves, accurate – Omar Marmoush is the man of the hour in the Bundesliga. The Egyptian secured a draw for Eintracht in the spectacular top game thanks to his goal in stoppage time. The striker had already scored to equalize. It was the third brace for the 25-year-old in this young season, having already scored twice against Kiel and Wolfsburg.
