Milan is going through a real rollercoaster of emotions so far. After a false start, the Milanese team had recently rehabilitated themselves (including a derby win against Inter). But now the engine is sputtering again. There was a 2-1 defeat against Fiorentina on Sunday – also because the Milanese showed nerves.

Milan were awarded a penalty twice, both times the shooters were denied by Fiorentina’s goalie Davide De Gea. The former Spanish national goalkeeper showed an outstanding performance and first made Theo Hernandez (45th + 1) and then Tammy Abraham (56th) despair. The crazy penalty shootout started in the 22nd minute when Moise Kean also missed a penalty for Fiorentina. Three penalties, three no goals – something like that is very rare.

While the strong Kean was able to celebrate with Fiorentina in the end, the disappointment at Milan was huge. Christian Pulisic (60′) had equalized Yacine Adli’s (35′) deficit, but in the end Albert Gudmundsson scored with a powerful shot to make it 2-1 (73′). Now it’s time for the Serie A clubs to go into the international break.
