Two penalties saved by De Gea, one by Maignan… and Milan fell to Fiorentina in Serie A (2-1)

Funny match. AC Milan, already beaten midweek in the Champions League, lost 2-1, despite two penalties in its favor, on Fiorentina’s field on Sunday at the end of the 7th day of the Italian Championship. The goalkeeper of the Rossoneri and the French team Mike Maignan nevertheless stopped a penalty from Moise Kean (22nd), but it was not enough.

Maignan lost in the 35th minute with a spectacular long shot from his compatriot Yacine Adli who joined Fiorentina from… AC Milan this summer on loan. Milan could have equalized in added time of the first period, but the penalty taken by Théo Hernandez was diverted for a corner by David de Gea.

Milan 6th, five points behind Naples

The former Manchester United goalkeeper stopped a second penalty taken by Tammy Abraham in the 56th minute, before being beaten four minutes later by Christian Pulisic (60th). Albert Gudmundsson gave the Viola the lead again, this time definitively, in the 73rd minute.

AC Milan, beaten 1-0 by Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, remained on three victories in the league after a missed start and fell to 6th place (11 pts), five points behind the leader, Naples, big winner of this 7th daytime. Fiorentina moved back to 11th place (10 pts).
