This goal seemed to give the French confidence, and the reinforced midfield, with Manu Koné and Mattéo Guendouzi alongside captain N’Golo Kanté, won more and more duels. A new Roma player, Koné made a strong impression, despite receiving a yellow card right from the start, with very strong defensive activity (9 balls recovered, 4 interceptions) and two strikes (51st, 55th). Served by a Kanté who was also very mobile, Ousmane Dembélé finally made the break with an individual feat (57th, see below), and the Blues kept control, even if Mike Maignan had to remain vigilant (70th, 71st).
