And 18 year old young man had to try to explain himself a few days ago before the Dieppe court.
On August 27, 2024, while they were preparing a show with the children of leisure center in the courtyard of one of the schools in this commune in the Pays de Bray, several facilitators spotted his worrying behavior, behind the window of the apartment he occupies: he was showing off and caressing himself sex.
Excited by the sight of the animators
On the bench of the civil parties, one of the young women who worked on site in Saint-Saëns (Seine-Maritime) explains that the children may not have seen anything, as they were busy rehearsing their choreography. But she still wonders if it was seeing her children evolve that could have excited her.
The young man denies it. He explains that that morning, he wished he had a relationship with his girlfriend but that she would have refused. Frustrated, he would have been excited by the sight of the presenters and in particular one of them.
He says he immediately stopped when he realized the children were there.
A statement which does not correspond to that of the presenters who believe that he continued for a certain time.
The lawyer of one of the victims who formed civil party requests 300 euros in damages:
-We are never prepared to see such a scene unfold four meters from a schoolyard.
Already convicted of exhibition acts
The deputy public prosecutor does not hide his concern. Especially since the young man has already been convicted, while he was still a minor, for acts of exhibition. It requires a sentence of 4 months in prison with a suspended probationary period requiring psychological and psychiatric care, and addiction treatment, and requests the registration of the accused in the FIJAIS, the judicial file for perpetrators of sexual violence and assault.
Me Benoist reaffirms that his client stopped as soon as he realized there were children:
It was the entertainers who excited him.
She also recalls that a expert psychiatrist indicated that the accused was perhaps under the influence of impaired discernment at the time of the facts.
The court decision
The judge takes this into account since he reduces the sentence to three months in prison with a probationary suspension carrying the obligations requested by the Prosecutor's Office as well as a ban on carrying out any activity related to minors for three years. He confirms the defendant's registration with Fijais and orders him to pay 200 euros in damages to the victim.
