Broadcaster of this fall tour of the XV of France, and therefore of the match against New Zealand on Saturday evening, TF1 is not spared from criticism.
Already the main broadcaster of the last Rugby World Cup in France, TF1, which recruited Isabelle Ithurburu a little over a year ago, confirmed its rapprochement with the oval ball by offering to broadcast the three tests -matches of the French XV this November, against Japan, New Zealand and Argentina. Which doesn't please everyone…
If rugby fans were thrilled by the exploit of the Blues against the All Blacks (30-29), Saturday evening at the Stade de France, some of them were very upset against TF1 after the meeting. The latter did not appreciate that the channel showed advertisements only a few seconds after the final whistle, while Antoine Dupont and his partners were celebrating their third success in a row against New Zealand.

“An absolute shame, you host rugby, no pre-match, nothing at half-time and the second France wins an incredible match you pass a pub. France Rugby you made a huge mistake”, “Your stupid ads which deprive us of the players' celebrations, we love TF1”, “And now you are giving back the air? We can't even enjoy this victory. TF1 you are rubbish,” we can read among the many criticisms of X.
The commentator duo, Stefan Etcheverry and Thomas Lombard, are also at the heart of the grievances. “Rugby on TF1 outside the World Cup I will never get used to it”, “The TF1 commentators are so bad compared to France2”, criticize Internet users, some of whom are nostalgic for the France Télévisions duo. “Frankly TF1 comments are no longer possible! Give rugby back to Matthieu Lartot and Dimitri Yachvili,” says one of them.
