Top 14 – USAP: Ali Crossdale, out again due to injury, suffers from a strain on his right thigh

The Englishman came off in the 35th minute following a crazy run after an interception by Damian Penaud.

Breakage, again, for the USAP. And this is once again likely to last several weeks. After just returning from injury, Ali Crossdale left early again. His first physical problem dates back to the match against , in Béziers, where he suffered from an acromio (shoulder injury).

This Saturday afternoon, in , the English winger left his partners in the 35th minute, just after Matthieu Jalibert’s transformation during UBB’s fourth try. Ali Crossdale made a phenomenal run to catch Damian Penaud, who had just intercepted the ball and was going for the try alone. The Englishman caught him, but could not get up. Besides, he didn’t avoid the test.

Ali Crossdale would have indeed slammed his right thigh during this supersonic 70 meter race, according to his trainer Franck Azéma. “That’s the impression it gives on the race and when it comes out”said the USAP manager in a post-match press conference. Bad news for the blood and gold staff if this were to be confirmed with the upcoming exams in . Because that would mean that Crossdale would be away again for more than a month, or even a month and a half.

Depoortere in hospital

Note that in terms of injury outings, that of Nicolas Depoortère was much more worrying. The French international was quickly transferred to the nearby Chaban-Delmas hospital to undergo further examinations. And for good reason, Nicolas Depoortère was not fully conscious when the trainers intervened. In addition, there would be a suspicion of a fracture in the face, explained his coach, Yannick Bru, without knowing yet how to locate it.
