Border police and the Toulon branch of the office for combating illicit migrant smuggling (Oltim) arrested six people at the start of the week during an inspection operation targeting “barber shops” in Toulon, announced the national police.
Eight establishments were thus subject to inspection by police personnel deployed in the Pont-du-Las district.
Assistance for irregular stay
The arrests were carried out as part of procedures opened for “employment of foreigners without work authorization” and “aid for illegal residence”.
This operation follows in particular a previous “stab” operation last month in the Saint-Jean-du-Var district of Toulon. “We have worked a lot on the city center and we want to avoid any deportation of delinquency towards the outlying districts.”declared the deputy director of the national police in Var.
