An indisputable starter with Provence Rugby, Harrison is the most starred player in Pro D2 at mid-season. The third row is one of Aix's leaders and sets an example on the pitch.
If you want to know what a fighter looks like, take a close look at Teimana Harrison. Arriving in the summer of 2022 at Provence Rugby, the 32-year-old third row never disappoints. Never. It must be said that his CV speaks for itself. When he put his bags down in the parking lot of the Maurice-David stadium, the original New Zealander could boast of having played for nine seasons at the highest level under the colors of Northampton. The one who also has 5 caps with England has logically been installed in the Aix starting XV for two and a half years now. Indispensable in Mauricio Reggiardo's system, he has already taken part in thirteen matches this season, including twelve as a starter.
While half of the regular phase has been played, Harrison is the most starred player by the Midi Olympique editorial team (see ranking below). “On the pitch, Teimana brings a lot to the team, whether in defense or attackexplains Provençal scrum-half Arthur Coville. What is very paradoxical about him is that he is as calm and kind in everyday life as he is fierce once he puts on his crampons. He’s a super simple guy during the week.” The former Stade Français player confides that it is better to have Harrison in his team: “If we want to go far this season and achieve our goals, it is certain that we must have him with us on the pitch. I think everyone is aware of his talent and his importance. I have the “I have the impression that our adversaries are never happy to have him face to face, he is so imposing.”
An exemplary leader
In the Provence Rugby squad, Teimana Harrison can be seen as a locomotive. With his affection for combat, the third row trains his teammates. However, he is not the one who speaks the most in the locker room. “ He's a guy who takes action and leads by example, notes Coville. He doesn't need to talk a lot to make himself understood. And yet, he could since he is starting to master French well.” Undisciplined at the start of the season (three yellow cards during the first three days), the former Saints rectified the situation in order to help Aix settle into the top 6.
Currently fourth in the second division, the Provençal club knows that it has in its ranks a player who would not do well at the higher level. This is good, Harrison and his team want to taste the Top 14 as quickly as possible. We'll talk about it again in the spring…
