Rugby TRANSFERS – Paul Alo-Emile has decided for his future, Anthony Coletta will change clubs, Bundee Aki and James Ryan seal their future: transfer news for this Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
Paul Alo-Emile will stay at Stade Français
The Stade French is having a complicated start to the season, after a much more successful previous year. The Parisian club is trying to redress the situation on the pitch, but must also manage the end of the contracts of several players on its squad. Among them, the right pillar Paul Alo-Emile (32 years old), who was one of the players courted by other teams of Top 14.
The Section Paloise had made the right pillar a priority for next summer, with a great offer to boot. But barring an improbable turnaround, Paul Alo-Emile decided to extend his adventure with the Parisian club. He is expected to sign a new two-year lease with the capital club, and will therefore continue to play with his brother Moses, which was extended a few weeks ago.
Dicodusport’s review : Very good news for Stade Français, which extended an experienced player in a key position. It remains to be seen whether he will manage to string together matches without spending too much time in the infirmary.
Anthony Coletta in Brive
In Brive, recruitment has been going well for several weeks, with no less than three reinforcements already registered for next season. Irish Herbst (32 ans), John Cooney (35 years old) and Jamie Shillock (27 years old) have all signed up with the Pro D2 club for the coming seasons.
Very ambitious, the Corrèze club must also sign JIFF, especially if the return to the Top 14 is confirmed. It is with this in mind that the CA Brive is finalizing the arrival ofAnthony Coletta (35 years old). The third line of Colomiers is at the end of his contract, and should make his return to his training club. A two-year contract awaits him in Corrèze.
Dicodusport’s review : A sure bet at the 3rd line position, still in great shape despite his 35 years.
Bundee Aki and James Ryan extend
The Irish Federation is preparing for the next World Cup, and has continued to extend its time in recent days, despite significant offers from the Top 14. Monday, Tadhg Furlong (32 years old) and Andrew Porter (28 years old) extended their contract, while Jacob Stockdale (28 years old) would also have given his agreement to continue the adventure in the country.
Bundee Aki (34 years old) was in the little papers of the RC Toulon and of Provence Rugby. The two French clubs wanted to attract the powerful Irish center, but that will not happen for the moment. He has just signed a new one-season contract and will therefore still be at Connacht in a few months. He also at the end of his contract, James Ryan signed a new three-season lease with his Federation and Leinster. He will therefore be there for the next World Cup.
Dicodusport’s review : Two senior players from Ireland, and these extensions are therefore a good thing for the 2027 World Cup. Then, the XV of Clover could well arrive at the end of the cycle.
