As revealed by our colleagues from La Dépêche, Toulouse town hall will reduce its subsidies allocated to the Pink City club. Among them, Stade Toulouse which should lose almost 20% of what was dedicated to it each season.
You will not have missed the non-sporting news in France: the time has come to tighten the screws on budgets. Whether at the head of state or in town halls, savings are on the agenda. The town hall of Toulouse is no exception and this should affect the finances of the reigning double French champion.
Indeed, according to information from our colleagues at The Dispatchthe Toulouse Stadium should see its subsidies allocated by the town hall drop considerably. At the Capitol, the budget dedicated to the Pink City's sports teams should decrease by 20%. The Red and Black will only receive 352,000 euros per year, paid in two installments. The first part up to 80% then the rest at the end of the season, if the Toulouse club respects the criteria.
Toulouse Olympique XIII in danger?
The other professional Rugby club, this time in XIII, from Toulouse may well not survive this announced drop in subsidies. Still according to information from The Dispatchthe TO XIII has for several years been held at arm's length by these famous public aids. By reducing them, the other club playing at Ernest-Wallon would be in great financial difficulty. A meeting is planned for this Thursday between all the Toulouse clubs, probably to communicate regarding this reduction in subsidies.
