First ordered to pay 1.7 million euros in compensation

Laporte and Brunel are ordered, jointly, to compensate the fifty families in the collective to the tune of more than 1.7 million euros, with the third partner having to appear in separate proceedings. On November 6, the Court of Cassation exonerated Laporte, considering that the “personal liability of a partner can only be engaged if this partner has committed an intentional fault of particular seriousness, incompatible with the normal exercise prerogatives attached to the status of partner” and that the Court of Appeal did not provide a legal basis for its decision.
