Australian versatile three-quarter James O’Connor (34 years old, 64 caps) has officially signed up with the Crusaders for the next Super Rugby season. The former Reds will discover a new country.

The Crusaders are in the reconstruction phase. After a difficult year, during which the Christchurch franchise had difficulty digesting the departures of Scott Robertson, Richie Mo’unga and Sam Whitelock, it is by being active on the transfer market that the team most successful in the history of Super Rugby will try to return to the top. Recently, it was James O’Connor who officially signed up. The three-quarter will try to bring his experience and especially his versatility within the team.

Active Crusaders

While he has played more of an open position in recent years in the Reds jersey, O’Connor will be able to help out in several positions, while last season’s starting number 10 Riez Reihana extended his position for two years this summer. The guys from Christchurch should therefore find some momentum next season, while the indisputable Chay Fihaki has also extended his contract by two years and the return of former Leicester player Fainga’anuku has been announced.
