The Toulouse city council has decided to pay tribute to Guy Novès, emblematic coach of the “rouge et noir”, by giving his name to a sports area located a stone’s throw from the Ernest-Wallon stadium.

This tribute responds to a long-standing desire of the town hall which, in 2016, considered renaming the Job space after the name of the former manager of the red and black club. The Capitol finally gave up in the face of protests from the Job collective who wanted to maintain the name “Job” for the old factory.
In the 1970s, the entire Ponts-Jumeaux leisure area, near the sports complex, was occupied by the Stade Toulousain enclosure and its training grounds before their departure a little further into the district due to construction of the ring road.
