MUSIC – A new voice, but the same energy. Linkin Park gave their first concert with Emily Armstrong in California on Wednesday, September 11, seven years after the suicide of their former singer and leader Chester Bennington in 2017. The group announced their big comeback with a new album, From Zeroand a new tour, during a concert event lasting more than an hour broadcast live on September 5.

If for Chester Bennington’s son, Jaime, the re-formation of the group with a new singer is ” disrespectful” and “betrays the trust of millions of fans”the Inglewood crowd didn’t seem to agree. Emily Armstrong won over the band’s fans during the first date of their tour at the Kia Forum near Los Angeles.
Dead co-founder Sara wowed the crowd with her vocal performance. For just over two hours, she belted out 27 of the band’s songs, including Linkin Park’s signature hits, Numb, In the End or even Crawling, as heard in the video at the top of the article.
According to fans at the concert, the audience welcomed Emily Armstrong very well, even chanting her name.

If anyone doubted Emily Armstrong’s ability as a singer for Linkin Park, you should hear tonight’s performance by My December + Keys to the Kingdom. Incredible, she demonstrated her full vocal range.
Linkin Park’s surprise tour will continue in the United States with a concert in New York on September 16, before continuing in Germany, the United Kingdom, South Korea and Colombia. A larger tour is planned for 2025, after the release of the new album on November 15. This will be an opportunity for Emily Armstrong to prove that she is more than just a replacement.
