In the heart of Sologne, far from the tumult of Paris, lies a precious place for the new Prime Minister Michel Barnier: a family home, belonging to his wife Isabelle, nestled in the quiet commune of La Ferté-Saint-Aubin.
A few days after his appointment as Prime Minister, Michel Barnier is in the process of forming a government. Paris Match has therefore taken a close interest in his profile, both political and personal. We learn in particular from one of his sons that one of his favorite places is a house in Sologneowned by the family of Isabelle Altmayer, his wife. The residence is a real family cocoon. Surrounded by woods and forest paths, this red brick and half-timbered building is a haven of tranquility. It is also here that Michel Barnier celebrated his marriage to Isabelle in January 1982 as well as that of their daughter Laetitia several years ago. “Sologne, Centre-Val de Loire, is my second region of attachment and heart. We are very attached to it. Our eldest son hunts there.”Michel Barnier confided in 2022. Indeed, the Sologne region is particularly known and appreciated for its green landscapes and its attractive tourist sites such as the ZooParc de Beauval and the castles of Chambord and Chaumont-sur-Loire.
A discreet refuge
