nice improvement in sight, but to be confirmed

Your next weekend, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September, an improvement should see the light of day. However, this trend remains fragile, because the Azores high pressure system could have some difficulty in imposing itself on all of France due to the presence of a low pressure system over central Europe.

After a disturbed week, the Azores high pressure system will attempt a return. An improvement is expected, as well as a rise in temperatures next Sunday.

A cool Saturday with possible frost in the morning

In the south, clear spells and sunshine will prevail most often after the dissipation of some morning grey skies, while in the north-east, the risk of showers will remain.

It will be very cool in the morning with minimum temperatures between 5 and 9°C in general, around 10 to 12°C near the Channel under the clouds and 13 to 15°C in the Mediterranean. Light frosts are even possible at daybreak in the central regions. In the afternoon, we expect 12°C in the Grand Est to 24°C near the Mediterranean where the mistral and tramontane will blow strongly.

A milder Sunday afternoon

With the wind direction to the south, a warming is expected, especially in the afternoon in the west and south. If the clouds resist over a small north-eastern third of the country with a few possible showers sliding from Hauts-de-France to Alsace, located on the edge of disturbances circulating over central Europe, the sky will be brighter elsewhere. It should be fine over a large western half of the territory. The sun will also be present in the Mediterranean with a tramontane and a mistral in attenuation.

We expect temperatures between 7 and 15°C in the morning and between 18 and 25°C in the afternoon, with an average of around 20°C in Paris and 22°C in Lyon, Bordeaux and Toulouse.
