Ziyech: the King’s plan falls through!

Algeria The Machiavellian plan of the King of Morocco against the former Moroccan international, Hakim Ziyech, falls through.

Hakim Ziyech, removed from the Moroccan national team by Walid Regragui, saw his situation take a difficult turn after publicly criticizing his country’s decisions regarding the conflict between Palestine and Israel. According to the Saudi press, Al-Fateh management received preliminary and verbal approval from Ziyech to join the team. However, negotiations between the two parties have not yet been finalized.

The Al-Fateh club is looking to strengthen its squad in order to escape the relegation zone, as it currently occupies the last place in the standings with 6 points. However, this difficult situation could represent an obstacle for Ziyech, who is looking to join a team more stable in terms of results.

If Al-Fateh manages to reach a final agreement and beat out other interested clubs, Hakim Ziyech will join fellow Moroccans Marouane Saâdane and Mourad Batna, who are pillars of the team.

Ziyech is also on the radars of several European clubs, including Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton in the English Premier League, as well as OGC in .

To date, the 31-year-old Ziyech has only made 5 appearances for Galatasaray this season in the Turkish Süper Lig, providing one assist. He was also absent from the last meetings of the Moroccan national team by decision of coach Walid Regragui.

As a reminder, the former Ajax Amsterdam star joined Galatasaray in the summer of 2023 on loan from Chelsea, before the Turkish club definitively acquired his contract. He is committed to the club until June 30, 2025.

The King of Morocco had sought to make an example of Ziyech, thinking that by removing him from the Moroccan team, the ex-Chelsea player would sink into anonymity. However, far from being defeated, Ziyech proved his resilience. Despite his absence from the national team, he has received numerous offers, both in Europe and in Saudi Arabia, which demonstrates that his talent continues to appeal on a global scale.
