During the last Council of Ministers, with a view to a dynamic of overhaul of the town planning, construction and housing policy, the President of the Republic urged the Government to continue efforts to promote construction to meet the standards of homes, buildings and buildings with the contribution of the National Reference Laboratory for Buildings and Public Works which ensures the approval of materials and products used in the construction sector and guarantees the quality and conformity of constructions.
The Director General of LNR BTP, who welcomed this decision by the highest authority in the country, said he was determined to take up the challenge. According to Professor Chérif Baldé “the LNR-BTP has undertaken a huge regulation and quality control project in the buildings and public works sector to meet normative requirements in terms of infrastructure resilience”. According to the general director, this involves the development of technical benchmarks for construction (major works and secondary works) with all the players in the sector, the start of authorization and approval procedures for imported iron and manufactured locally and approved by seventeen laboratories by the LNR BTP. This is why Professor Chérif Baldé launched an appeal to all general directorates and services of the State, technical partners for collaboration in the execution of decisions of the Head of State and his Government.
