A brief stormy episode has mobilized the firefighters of Liège and Hesbaye since Sunday shortly after 9:00 a.m., we learned from their emergency zone. Siamu of the Brussels Region also carried out several interventions linked to these bad weather conditions.
This morning, the sky suddenly darkened impressively. In the Brussels Region, ten interventions linked to this stormy episode were reported this Sunday morning. This mainly concerned falling branches or tiles, as well as blocked drains. No injuries were reported in any of these regions.
In Wallonia, firefighters carry out around fifteen interventions in the province of Liège, notably in Liège, Esneux, Tilff, Fléron, Flémalle and even Sart Tilman. Furthermore, firefighters from the Hesbaye emergency zone intervened for torn cables in the entity of Geer, in the Warem region, requiring the closure of a road. Emergency services were also called to Verlaine and Oteppe.
The number 1722 dedicated to non-urgent interventions by firefighters was activated on Sunday morning due to strong winds expected on the Coast, with a yellow alert issued by the IRM until 4:00 a.m. Monday morning, as well as slippery conditions expected on the provinces of Liège and Luxembourg until Monday afternoon.
