The American company Space Exploration Technologies Corporation “SpaceX” launched 30 Starlink satellites into space on Saturday.
A Falcon 9 rocket carrying the 30 new satellites took off from the “SLC-4E” launch complex at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, at 6:34 a.m. (Eastern Time), a SpaceX statement said. specifying that this mission, called “Bandwagon-2”, made it possible to place the satellites in low Earth orbit.
The first stage of the Falcon 9 successfully returned to Earth approximately eight minutes after launch, as planned, notes the same source, adding that the device made a controlled vertical landing on the Vandenberg recovery area.
This flight marks the 21st use of this Falcon 9 first stage, illustrating SpaceX's advances in the reuse of its launchers. The company did not specify, however, the exact timetable for putting the 30 deployed satellites into operation.
