EVENT. After canceling its 2024 edition, the Expo Vallée de la Coaticook will extend its break until 2025, the event organizers have confirmed. The latter, however, hope to present the summer meeting in 2026.
“It was not an easy decision to make,” said the president of the Expo, Philip Lanciaux. There is always the question of insurance that comes into play. As this was not resolved, it was starting to get late to build our program, reserve the rides and activities. We preferred to cancel the 2025 edition.”
All is not lost for this event, however. The organizing committee is working hand in hand with the City of Coaticook to find new land to host the festivities. “The Municipality supports us a lot in our efforts. She helps us so that we can soon have an Expo. We targeted a piece of land. We will have to decontaminate it and that is quite expensive. »
“We are working hard to present an event to the population in 2026,” continues the president. We have some great projects on the table. Our organization is also in good financial health, thanks to the surplus from the edition that we presented in 2023. We also have even more partners. They are ready to inject money to revive the Expo. »
The Coaticook Valley Expo will hold its annual general meeting on January 16 at 7 p.m., at the Coaticook Professional Training Center – CRIFA. Interested people can join. “We are always looking for new ideas. If there are people who wish to get involved, they are welcome,” concludes Mr. Lanciaux.
