General Motors reveals the name of the 11th team which will enter in 2026

While confirmed this Monday that an “agreement in principle” had been concluded with General Motors with the aim of supporting the entry into F1 of General Motors/Cadillac from 2026, the name of the future team was revealed.

Indeed, General Motors indicates that it is launching the team “Cadillac Formula 1 Team” which will become a factory stable “by the end of the decade” then building his car and his own engines.

“The innovations created for F1 will contribute to GM's effort to drive the future of transportation, leveraging advanced electrification, powertrain, software and internal combustion engine technology for consumers across the world. whole world,” indicates the Cadillac press release. “Launching an F1 team will also showcase the Cadillac brand to a diverse international audience, showcasing GM’s capabilities in technology and design.”

While Cadillac's entry into F1 will be in collaboration with TWG Global – a company whose motorsport CEO Dan Towriss also heads Andretti Global – Mario Andretti has been announced as a director within of the team's board of directors.

“Since announcing GM's F1 bid in January 2023, Cadillac Formula 1 has assembled an experienced team to work on aerodynamics, chassis and component development, software and vehicle dynamics simulation . The team is present in Fishers (Indiana), Charlotte (North Carolina), Warren (Michigan) and Silverstone (England),” also specifies the press release.
