Membership card

The president, Jean-François Guilbault addressed the issue of the card leading, thanks to a QR code, to registration to obtain the membership card. This is a new tool that your delegates will have to help you obtain your membership card. Moreover, a reminder was given about the registration procedure.

Assurance collective

Sandra announced an increase in group insurance premiums which will take place in January, specifying the impacts for members. In particular, the precise increases that we can expect. She also gave indications to pass on so that we can all work together to reduce the cost of group insurance.

Women’s food drive and initiatives against violence

Catherine Lozeau and Catherine Hamelin, members of the women’s committee, presented the Guignolée des femmes and the “12 days for the elimination of violence against women” event. They transmitted the invitation from the status of women committee for the AGIR ensemble conference which will take place as part of this campaign. Finally, they encouraged those who want to support the cause of eliminating violence against women to wear the white ribbon.

Francisation

Francization is a hot topic of the moment. Caroline Manseau spoke about the positions lost in francization in the CSSMV. In this matter, the employer’s position is the same as the union position, that is to say that the government is missing the point and very poorly assesses the needs. Unfortunately, the representations of the CSSMV did not work with the government. We have learned that 8 full-time equivalent positions will lose their jobs. We can imagine the large number of students impacted by this decision driven by a political program.

The vice-president and the president announce at the same time that everything that is contestable will be through grievance. The Champlain Union will try to enforce seniority and encourage travel within the CSS to protect the employment of members. Added to this of course is the mobilization and the work done by our federation.

Tour of establishments

The tour is going well. Marjorie Racine and Ani Deschênes have already had the privilege of visiting several schools. This year, the topic of the tour is “Psychosocial risk factors: Know how to recognize them”. The tour representatives informed the delegates that there is still space. There is still time to register.
