UA joint press release from the ministry and the Bar Association, published on Saturday, formalized this agreement which aims to perpetuate the dialogue between the two entities. This includes the establishment of thematic committees to examine current legislative proposals. These commissions, composed of representatives from both parties, will meet according to a pre-established schedule and record their deliberations in minutes.
The meeting at the origin of this dialogue took place in the House of Representatives, in the presence of the presidents of the Justice, Legislation and Human Rights committees, the Minister of Justice, administrative officials, the president of the Association of Bars, Presidents of the Bar Association and several parliamentarians.
The Minister of Justice reaffirmed the crucial importance of the legal profession and underlined the usefulness of a participatory approach for the implementation of legislative reforms. For his part, the president of the association expressed the commitment of lawyers to contribute effectively to these reforms.
The discussions were described as frank and constructive, addressing various legislative and professional topics. Following these discussions, it was agreed to document and continue these dialogues, thus marking a significant step forward in relations between the Bar Association and the ministry. This parliamentary initiative was also praised for having facilitated this rapprochement, essential to effectively address the issues of justice in Morocco.
