For several days, certain scammers have been playing on the curiosity of their potential victims and more precisely on their childhood memories. A childhood photo, a photo of a primary school teacher…, there are multiple baits to trap victims.
A wave of scam attempts is currently targeting users of the messaging application Telegram. But the way these scams work can actually apply to any social network. Its principle? Simply play on the curiosity of potential victims, and more particularly on their childhood memories.
We all love looking back at photos from our childhood to feel a sense of nostalgia. It is precisely on this point that scammers have been playing for several days.
Some people received a message stating: “Ithere are pictures of you in it “. Of course, no photo is directly visible and a link supposedly allowing access to it is put forward.
Another example with this message which indicates: “ Photos of you as a child “. You will agree, it can be tempting to click on the link to see a photo of yourself as a child.
Yet another example with this message which announces: “ There’s a photo of your elementary school teacher here ».
The advice to avoid being fooled by this type of scam is simple: resist your curiosity and, above all, never click on the link put forward.
