a week before his union, he shows off his private parts in public and takes 3 months

According to details reported by L’Observateur, this arrest highlights scandalous behavior which sparked an outcry in the neighborhood.

B. Mballo seemed to lead a double life. On one side, a future husband ready for the big day in his native village of Kolda; on the other, a man in search of deviant sensations in the streets of Dakar. Every morning, taking advantage of the absence of men who had gone to work, he went to the deserted streets of Gibraltar. His modus operandi? Spotting women, generally servants, and exposing his private parts in front of them, each time creating a climate of astonishment and repulsion. A cleaning lady, S. Thiam, even confided to investigators that her appearance had become a recurring nightmare for residents of the neighborhood. “Some cleaners even abandoned their jobs because of his actions,” she reveals.

It was finally a week before his wedding that B. Mballo was arrested. That day, when he was supposed to finalize the preparations for his union, he again went to the neighborhood to satisfy his impulses. His target that morning was AD, another cleaning lady, busy cleaning the front of a house. According to testimonies collected by the police and reported in L’Observateur, B. Mballo would have approached furtively behind her before exposing her private parts and performing inappropriate gestures. Panicked, the servant tried to run away, almost spilling her bucket of water.

This time, however, the scene did not go unnoticed. Neighbors, witnesses to the attack, immediately reacted by intercepting the accused and accompanying him under close surveillance to the Medina police station. Faced with his actions, B. Mballo could only confirm the facts, explaining however that he was under the influence of maraboutage, a spell which pushed him to act in spite of himself. He pleaded that this supernatural force pushed him to commit these acts of exhibition.

During his trial, B. Mballo attempted to reiterate his supernatural defense, emphasizing the idea that an “irresistible force” controlled his actions. But this version hardly convinced the court. The prosecutor, unimpressed by this argument, requested a four-month prison sentence. The defense lawyer, for his part, deplored the absence of a psychiatric expertise to assess his client’s mental state, maintaining that B. Mballo could be subject to epileptic seizures.

However, the judge found that the indecency and repetition of the indictments were serious enough to merit a stiff prison sentence. Ultimately, B. Mballo was sentenced to three months in prison, a sanction that could jeopardize his wedding, planned in a week.

This incident, reported by L’Observateur, highlights deviance and the need for vigilance in communities, especially in the face of behavior that could alter residents’ feeling of security. For the future bride, who remained in Kolda, this marriage now seems compromised by the actions of a man caught up in his inner demons.
