Action on climate change: what hat do you wear? A look back at the ideas laboratory of the latest JASP

During the last annual public health days, some 80 people gathered to continue implementing the integration of the fight against climate change into public health. On the agenda for the day: case studies, scenarios and simulations to explore the roles and actions of public health and other stakeholders, as well as the levers, mechanisms and communication channels that these actors and actresses have at their disposal. This webinar provides feedback on the learning from this day, as well as a presentation of the training tools that will result from it.

Learning Objectives

  • Summarize the objectives and the progress of the activities that took place within the framework of the ideas laboratory Action on climate change: what hat do you wear?as well as the major findings that emerged;
  • Recognize the potential of this type of activity for the integration of the fight against climate change into public health at all levels (local, regional, supraregional and national);
  • Explore the learning and training solutions currently being developed at the INSPQ for the integration of the fight against climate change into public health.

Speakers

Melanie Beaudoin is scientific advisor and coordinator at the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec. With nearly 25 years of experience in the environment, health and climate change, she coordinates the team that contributes to the implementation of the Health component of the training and mobilization actions of the Plan for a Green Economy.

Hélène Gayraud is a scientific advisor at the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec. A nutritionist by training, her years of experience in health education and healthy eating, as well as in teaching roles in higher education, have led her to perfect her knowledge and skills in pedagogy and andragogy. At the INSPQ, she is notably responsible for developing learning solutions for public health actors in the fight against climate change.
