For his part, Toumani Camara hit hard with the Portland Trail Blazers (100-118 victory on the Pelicans floor). Our compatriot played more than 36 minutes for 16 points (his NBA record is 18 points), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. This is by far his best performance of the season.
Wembanyama and the Spurs beaten by the Clippers
Difficult start to the season for Victor Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs, who suffered a fourth defeat in seven games against the Los Angeles Clippers (113-104). The Frenchman finished as the best player of the match with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. But that wasn’t enough to overthrow James Harden’s partners.
Garland keeps Cavaliers undefeated
A huge game from Darius Garland (39 points, 8 assists) allowed the Cleveland Cavaliers to narrowly win against Milwaukee (116-114) and thus win their 8th game in as many games this season.
Trailing by one point in the last minute, the Cavaliers saw Garland respond from afar to a three-point shot from Damian Lillard (36 points, 7 assists), to definitively take the lead.
The Milwaukee Bucks, champions in 2021, are sinking to last place in the East (1 win – 6 losses) but returned to competitive basketball on Monday despite the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo, injured in the right side adductor.
Winning comeback for Curry
After missing three games, injured in an ankle, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry returned for a success in Washington (125-112), the 6th in 7 matches this season for this team in full renaissance.
Curry was spared (24 minutes of play) but still scored 24 points and distributed 6 assists, well assisted by Buddy Hield (20 points).
After a good start, Bilal Coulibaly was finally rather erased (9 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists). French rookie Alexandre Sarr was clumsy on the shot (3 out of 10) but effective around the circle with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Boston Domine Atlanta et Risacher
Champion Boston logically dominated Atlanta (123-93) by widening the gap in the second quarter, notably thanks to Jayson Tatum, once again dazzling (28 points including 25 at the break, 6 rebounds, 9 assists), for a record of 7 victories and 1 defeat.
Frenchman Zaccharie Risacher, No. 1 in the draft in June, stood out with some classy actions, notably a lay-up after a fake dunk. Still clumsy shooting (6 out of 15, including 1 out of 6 from distance), Risacher still accumulated 15 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
Sabonis decisive
Led in Miami, the Sacramento Kings blew away the victory (111-110) thanks to a basket snatched by Domantas Sabonis (16 points, 16 rebounds) after an offensive rebound less than a second from the siren.
