Anderlecht crushes an apathetic Kortrijk, but that does not calm the anti-Vandenhaute

Anderlecht slapped a KV Kortrijk who came as a willing victim at Lotto Park this Sunday. Despite this, the ultras made themselves heard.

The strings were a little big: to prevent the pre-match of this RSC Anderlecht – Kortrijk from being parasitized by possible anti-Renard and Vandenhaute chants and banners, Lotto Park was plunged into darkness for a sound and light with trumpet and all the trimmings, including fireworks. Before an ordinary match against the 14th in the Pro League? Amazing.

And the difference will also be seen on the ground. Even with a reinforced Rits-Ashimeru midfielder, Anderlecht does not have to force its talent to confiscate the ball from KV Kortrijk. The first strike is for Dolberg, above (14th); the only warning for Coosemans is a cross coming from the right and which the defense struggles to clear. Without an intervention from Fujii on the line (18th), the RSCA would have broken the game.

The Mauves will finally do it from the penalty spot: Anders Dreyer multiplies the incursions on his right flank, one of the centers puts Edozie in a duel with Kaneko who is late. Kasper Dolberg calmly transforms (37th). Totally logical as KVK offered nothing and struggled to get out of their own half. The only downside on the RSCA side is the exit of Majeed Ashimeru due to injury.

Anderlecht regains confidence

The Flandrians will not be transfigured after returning from the locker room, to say the least, and Anderlecht takes back the seat of Vandenberghe’s goals. The corners follow one another and on one of them, a header from… Zanka is deflected by Kadri into his own net (2-0, 50th). Just after a long stoppage in play due to an injury to the linesman, a superb ball from Rits found Dreyer who put it back. Mario Stroeykens (58e, 3-0).

The young playmaker is the man of the match for his team, mobile and very clean technically. Unsurprisingly, the pace drops a bit; Edozie has the 4-0 at the end of the foot but has a hole (63rd). Kortrijk puts its nose to the window a little, obtains its first (!) corner in the 68th minute, but does nothing with it. Stroeykens, untenable, obtains a free kick in the circle of the large rectangle: Kasper Dolberg sends a cannon shot to make 4-0 (77th).

Despite this demonstration by David Hubert’s men, the Mauves Army wants to deliver its message: anti-Renard banners and “Wouter Buiten” will appear to the great annoyance of a large part of the stadium, which boos its own ultras. Funny atmosphere then, because apart from that, there was only positive things to write about Anderlecht’s performance this evening. And that was a long time ago…
