“My life changed Tuesday evening”: the pain of the mother of the young cyclist killed in

The mother and brother of the cyclist killed in on Tuesday testified for the first time this Saturday at the microphone of RTL/M6.

“It’s a tragedy in our family,” they confided, refusing to describe the facts as an “accident” and referring to “a murder”.

“It’s an immense pain.” In the capital since the tragedy, while she lives in the Hautes-Alpes, the mother of the young cyclist killed in Paris on Tuesday after a dispute with a motorist testified for the first time this Saturday at the microphone of RTL/M6, with the brother of the victim. “My life turned upside down on Tuesday evening. Our Christmases together, our vacations together, all those moments, they will no longer exist… It’s horrible. Because of a guy. If that guy hadn’t been there, Paul, my son, would have been alive. What’s the worst thing for a dad or a mom to lose a child?” she declared. And to add: “It’s a tragedy in our family, how are we going to live with that, how are we going to integrate it? What will our taste for living be?”

“I will not leave Paris without Paul. The burial will be in his birthplace, in his cradle, where he was born”, she continued, after describing the circumstances in which her son died as “savagery”.

“It was barbarism”

“In the morgue, we saw Paul, he was in a state… There are no words, it was barbarism, clearly,” estimates the young man’s brother. And to continue: “Paul was in front, the person accelerated, passed over him twice, front wheel, rear wheel, he went another 10 meters. All that for an altercation. The war between bicycles and cars, that didn’t no sense.”
