Cyril Hanouna plans to “take legal action”

After months of silence, Cyril Hanouna spoke out about the withdrawal of the C8 frequency on TNT by Arcom.

“The target is me!” Cyril Hanouna speaks. On the occasion of the start of the school year Don’t touch my post This Monday, September 2, on C8, the presenter of the daily talk show discussed Arcom’s decision to withdraw the channel’s frequency on TNT. He expressed his intention to “certainly take legal action,” considering himself “harassed by the Arcom organization.”

The presenter said he had contacted “a law firm that will file a complaint this week with the public prosecutor of the Paris judicial court”. “I consider myself, and you should know that we already have a 35-page file, harassed by the Arcom organization, which generates hate messages on social networks and means that I am extremely harassed,” he said.

“Today I want them to be in front of people and explain the double standards that are being applied to me. I cannot arrive at the radio station on the 10th and be formally notified by Arcom on the 17th, that has never happened,” he added, claiming to be subjected to “a wave of rage and hatred at [son] encounter, coming from all sides, causing significant harm.”

A parody of Celine Dion

Cyril Hanouna had mentioned the affair at the beginning of the show by delivering a parody of Celine Dion’s performance at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. Dressed and coiffed like the Quebec diva, who had reprised that evening The Hymn to Love by Edith Piaf, Cyril Hanouna sang “L’Hymne à l’Arcom”, singing in particular:

“We will have other choices than DTT / just after February / Without Arcom, no more problems.”

Last July, Arcom announced that it had rejected the application of C8 – owned by the Canal+ group, itself owned by Vincent Bolloré – for the reallocation of channels in 2025.

The withdrawal will be effective in February, and will leave this controversial show without a broadcaster. The decision comes after years of Cyril Hanouna’s on-set excesses. His shows have earned C8 a barrage of sanctions from Arcom, the media regulator, for a total of 7.5 million euros in fines.

Why are C8 and NRJ12 going to disappear from TNT?

Cyril Hanouna and CNews, another channel under Vincent Bolloré’s wing, are regularly accused by left-wing figures of promoting far-right opinions, which they deny.

The presenter was summoned to the National Assembly on March 14, as producer and host of Don’t touch my postand had to answer questions about his independence.

“I am not at anyone’s beck and call. No one can say who I vote for, who I will vote for, and in the broadcasts I never judge the French on their vote,” he had notably affirmed.
